Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 Your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
