Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge, 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
