Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 who has created you in several stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 and has set up within them the moon as a light [reflected] and set up the sun as a [radiant] lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 God has spread out the earth 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
