The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
