Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
