The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
