Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 And We found most of them not true to their words; and indeed We found most of them disobedient. 102 Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 Incumbent it is upon me that I speak naught respecting Allah save the truth; surely I have brought you an evidence from your Lord; wherefore let then go with me the Children of Isra'il. 105 He said: if thou hast brought a sign, forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 106 Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 107 and he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 108
