The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
