And Noah -- when he called before, and We answered him, and delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We helped him against the people who rejected Our communications; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all. 77 AND [remember] David and Solomon - [how it was] when both of them gave judgment concerning the field into which some people's sheep had strayed by night and pastured therein, and [how] We bore witness to their judgment: 78 To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David: it was We Who did (all these things). 79 And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful? 80 We subjected to Solomon the stormy wind, which blew at his behest towards the land which We had blessed. For it is We who have knowledge of all things -- 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And remember Ayyub (Job), when he called his Lord that, “Hardship has afflicted me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who have mercy.” 83 So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship Us. 84 (Remember) Ishmael, Edris and Dhu'l-Kifl. They were men of fortitude, 85 And We brought them in unto Our mercy. Lo! they are among the righteous. 86 And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." 87 We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe. 88 And Zakariyya! recall what time he cried unto his Lord: my Lord! leave me not solitary, though Thou art the best of heirs. 89 So We accepted his prayer and bestowed upon him John, and We made his wife fit (to bear a child). Verily they hastened in doing good works and called upon Us with longing and fear, and humbled themselves to Us. 90 And she who guarded her virginity, so We breathed into her of Our spirit and appointed her and her son to be a sign unto all beings. 91 'Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so serve Me.' 92 But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. 93
