The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
