The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, -- 1 He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, who has neither begotten a son nor has He a partner in His kingdom, (who) created everything and determined its exact measure. 2 Yet they choose beside Him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not death nor life, nor power to raise the dead. 3 And those who disbelieve say: this is naught but a falsehood that he hath fabricated and there have assisted him therein other people; so surely they have aimed at a wrong and a fraud. 4 They say: 'He has written tales of the ancients, they are recited to him at dawn and at the evening' 5 Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful." 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 "Or (Why) has not a treasure been bestowed on him, or why has he (not) a garden for enjoyment?" The wicked say: "Ye follow none other than a man bewitched." 8 Observe what kind of things they attribute to you. They have surely gone astray and cannot find the right way again. 9
