A. L. M. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
