Hizb 46

Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
