Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 Then rush thereby upon an assembly: 5 Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord, 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
