The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
