The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ O ye who believe! be not forward in the presence of Allah and His apostle, and fear Allah; verily Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 1 Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, do not be too loud in speaking to him [as you may have been to one another], lest your deeds will be made devoid of all virtue without your realizing it. 2 Surely those who lower their voices in the presence of God's Messenger, those are they whose hearts God has tested for godfearing; they shall have forgiveness and a mighty wage. 3 Verily! Those who call you from behind the dwellings, most of them have no sense. 4 If they had waited for you to come out it would have been better for them. But God is forgiving and kind. 5 O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful. 6 And know that among you is Allah's Apostle; should he obey you in many a matter, you would surely fall into distress, but Allah has endeared the faith to you and has made it seemly in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you unbelief and transgression and disobedience; these it is that are the followers of a right way. 7 By grace from Allah and as a favor; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. 8 And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable. 9 The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. 10
