Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
