Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Book written 2 In parchment spread open 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 By the roof elevated. 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 No one can avert it. 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
