The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
