A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 Verily we are undone. 66 Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". 67 Have you ever considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74
