He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 So you are after him! 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
