The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
