The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
