Certainly Aaron had said to them even before (the return of Moses): "My people, you were fallen into error because of the calf. Surely your Lord is Most Compassionate; so follow me and obey my command." 90 They said: we shall by no means cease to be assiduous to it until there returneth to us Musa. 91 (Musa) said: O Haroun! what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 from following after me, did you disobey my order' 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Said [Moses]: "What, then, didst thou have in view, O Samaritan?" 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 (Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" 97 Your God is none else than Allah, beside Whom there is no god. His knowledge embraces everything." 98 Thus do We relate to you (some) of the news of what has gone before; and indeed We have given to you a Reminder from Ourselves. 99 Whoso turneth away from it, he verily will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection, 100 They will remain in it forever – what an evil burden it will be for them on the Day of Resurrection! 101 On the day when the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the guilty, blue-eyed, on that day 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know well what they will say to one another: We also know that even the most cautious in his estimate will say: "You lived in the world no more than a day." 104
