The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
