۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
