The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 for a great Day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
