The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
