The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
