The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 for what they have done 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
