Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
