Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
