The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
