Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
