The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
