3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
