We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 And We helped them, so they were victorious. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace upon Elias." 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 And at night. Then will you not use reason? 138
