Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
