Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
