Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 Further evidence (of His existence) are the ships which stand as mountains in the sea. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who obeyed the command of their Lord and kept the prayer established; and whose affairs are with mutual consultation; and who spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them. 38 who, when a wrong is done to them, seek its redress. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 If one avenges himself after he has been wronged, there is no way of blaming him. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
