Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
