In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
