The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
