He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attended to him, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits and pastures 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
