The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
