The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
