The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 when they were seated around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
