The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
