(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
