The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
